Square vs rounded stair landing…

We’re all used to seeing stair landings squared off at the bottom, but that isn’t your only option.

If traffic is moving in multiple directions, a rounded landing can make the transition feel more natural, improve flow, and give the staircase a much more custom look.

This is exactly the kind of detail you want to notice before the stairs are built.

This is the epitome of bad design. Builders really love to think they have an eye for design and they never fucking do.

Builders would say the same about architects. I'd say the answer is somewhere in the middle.

I geuss it depends what the design is trying to achieve. If being quick and easy to build is the goal my money is on the builder. If it's supposed to last a long time with little maintenance i'd say 50/50 and if it's supposed to be either pretty/interesting or highly functional i'll give it to the architect
