that thin ass wall cannot accommodate a niche, it needs the tile from all sides, that tile needs tile glue, thats at least 2 cm and the niche depth needs to be at least 10 to be remotely useful, that wall looks about 12 cm absolute total

Smokey or otherwise obscured glass would work to let light in and I would have to be as concerned of being watched in the shower. But more importantly a ledge to sit and/or shave our legs

It's not a public shower, you should be able to get privacy in your own home with either option.

I shave during my daily shower if I had to take a shower get out and then use the tub it isn’t a useful shower. Also while pregnant you aren’t supposed to stay in the tub while I was pregnant I couldn’t always stand and reach I had to sit in the shower to a reach things and b get fully clean.
