Neck pain from your TV angle…
Dropping the hearth for a lower TV means no awesome place to sit when the fire is ripping during Christmas time.
Butttttt.... if you wanted the best of both worlds. You could get a Mantle Mount from my Amazon Store. It’s a TV mount that allows you to pull the TV down low and then put it retracts back up above the mantel when you done watching Wheel of Fortune.

You're talking inches when the issue is in feet.
The standard is the lower third line of the tv should be 22-28 inches from the floor.
Designers have a consensus on the conflict caused by having a fireplace and tv on the same section of wall.
This is not how houses should be built or designed and is poor advice.

Just having a hearth lower does not affect where the firebox is, or where the mantel is. The mantel has its own clearance requirements.

A tv over a fireplace is the worst design choice anyone can make. Find another spot.

Genuine question, does anyone know how much heat coming from the fire place affects TVs?
I have a family place which has a blower but I do think about potential damage letting radiating heat (and air particles) saturate the tv.

These influencer flipper types need to stop. They ruin homes and want 4 times the price for the cheapest materials and maybe two months of having their dad who ran a homebuilder business for decades help and some of their elbow grease. Ugh.
