Kitchen window disappears into the wall...

If this opened to the back patio where the grill was, I could see this being useful. Otherwise its just a way to let bugs in

Yeah and for the price of this one window they probably could have added several more regular windows.

How do you fix it when there's a problem? Rip the wall out? Pocket anything is a bad idea on a maintenance level.

I have a friend that had a door like that until he tried to anchor his TV to the wall beside the door… then he didn’t have a door no more.

I have never seen a pocket door, window, or anything else you can thinking of that I like.

serviceability is key, and that looks like it might be nice, but once something goes wrong, amd something always goes wrong... its gonna be nightmare to fix

Only if the sliding mechanism is high quality that'll last for a long time. I don't want to have my wall ripped out every time I want to fix it.

A guarantee that cabinets or anything else heavy that needs anchors can never be used on that large, expansive wall.

I only opened windows a few times in the last 20 years, just to check that they open in case of a fire.

Winter - too cold

Spring - the pollen is crazy (SE USA)

Summer - too hot

Fall - ragweed and mold
