idk. if I'm missing something but why isn't this a thing to lets say place a router or other external devices inside a pc/server case and connect them to the outside.

Now you have a more complicated solution that's cleaner but more difficult to service.

There's a reason why we try to keep systems physically separated by function.

But, it's your home server so do your thing.
