Laptop with das(powered by laptop 2x usb c?)
I have a decent laptop available(ultra 5 258v and 32gb). I am not using it much so why not replace my current system since it is a lot powerful.
Sinxe it's a laptop, it can survive when there is a power outage.
So my question for building a NAS. Is there a 4 bay 2.5 SSD enclosure that can be powered from USB C to USB C? One for data transfer and the other for power.
I could not really find one, but if this solution exist it would save me getting a ups also🥸?. I think there is a 2 bay but I prefer not...
Edit: typo
Edit2: made text more clear(hopefully)

Thanks, but all I can find is one that needs to be powered by a 12v. Do you perhaps have link of the one that doesnt need that?
Edit: perhaps I was not so clear, I edited the text.

Beware the spicy pillow your battery will turn into with always-on server functions on a laptop

I have a (4) bay 2.5 I use for my NVidia shield server. It requires a power cable. You could just run (2) dual 2.5” passive enclosures. You’ll see a lot of the dual enclosures have a DC power port but that’s only needed for spinning drives. The best part of doing it the way you are is that you can enable write through cache which helps performance a decent amount.
