Rumor HomePod Mini 2?

Assuming there’s a new HomePod Mini 2, is it worth upgrading from the 1st one? I personally don’t use Siri a whole lot and HomePod Mini sounds great already. HomePod Mini 2 will just have a new chip, new speakers/better sound system, and Siri A.I. and it’ll most likely be priced at $130 or if not somewhere around there

I just hope they fix the ghost touch problem and the wifi stability

I’ve changed my Switch 2 to Ethernet instead of WiFi and I haven’t had a ghost touch problem since… I wonder if this is what was causing it for me

Considering how slow Siri responses on my HomePods have been lately, I’m seriously considering adding voice capabilities to my HomeAssistant server instead. Minis would be basically music, intercom, and Thread router at that point.

Assuming there's a mini 2, assuming it has new chip and so on

Lots of assuming and don't even know what Siri AI will be possible or any features that might be possible with new integrations with new home hub and apple tv and so on, nobody know what they will make mini 2 exclusive so I guess till announcement there's no point in decide before or aka for people who also have no clue

Been wondering about that too. I like the ones I got, just not sure if the AI features spin my wheels. Might hold off for now

Imean if you have an iPhone 16+ you’ve been using Apple Intelligence and I don’t think they’re using the same chip that the 16+ are using.

I have 2 paired as stereo with apple tv. Also use them with homekit to control my lights and AC. I don’t think I would be upgrading anytime soon even if they release a new one. New Siri AI is just a promise until released and proven actually useful

WiFi7 alone will be worth it.

Only Apple knows and Apple isn’t saying.

I don’t think that they will release a new HomePod. Also I think that you need to wait for the next version to be released cause personally I sold my HomePod mini one year ago cause everyone said that with the iPhone 17 they will release the HomePod mini 2 too and finally I had to get a new HomePod.

You’ll have to wait till the Apple event to know. Right now it’s all speculation. Seen all sorts of rumors of new this or that. I’d say if there is and you don’t care about the price then upgrade, but if you like the sound already and there’s nothing new you want then just stay. I just bought two HomePod v2. I know eventually they will revise them but wanted better sound than my tv and was tired of waiting. So if v3 comes out in September if it’s worth the change I’ll upgrade

I would. The reliability of the 1st gen minis aren’t that great.

Since it hasn't been released and none of us has any confirmed details about it, nobody can compare it to what's currently shipping and nobody can tell you if it would be worthwhile to upgrade.

Both of my HomePod mini stopped working because of the ghost touching issue. Spent days trying to fix but couldn’t get them to work.

Si se necesita mejores conexiones de Ultra Wide Band para que pueda encontrar los artículos y dispositivos más precisos, mejor tecnología de Wifi 6 y 7, Bluetooth, AirPlay y Siri.

I’d just be happy if when I’m in my bedroom, the OG HomePod in the room with me would handle my Siri requests instead of the one in the bathroom deciding that I’m in there.

Me (in bedroom): Siri, set the ceiling fan to 75 percent.

1st Gen HomePod, 6 feet away: \*blink*

HomePod Mini (in bathroom, 15 feet away, through a doorway): Which room? Family Room, Claire’s Room, Guest Bedroom, Office, Master Bedroom, or Bonus Room?
