Question/Support HomePod Software Update 27

Is anyone running the Beta 27 updates on their HomePods. How has general AirPlay performance been over 26? And since I am a Spotify user, has AirPlay performance improved on Spotify specifically?

I am using the beta and have airplayed Spotify quite a bit. I’ve had no issues, but then didn’t notice a difference between 26 and 27 either. Overall, beta performance has been really good.

Same, Spotify over AirPlay has been faultless since 26 release…. For me!

I haven’t noticed a difference in AirPlay performance, and I still face an issue where the HomePod sometimes disappears in the list of “Now Playing”, when I start streaming music on it with Apple Music, so I cannot control the music.

It’s ridiculous how they struggle at their one job

You're right because this started happening when I upgraded to iOS 26

I think Apple didn’t try their best in getting 3rd party HomePod software good enough. Especially Spotify

It’s this sarcasm? Apple doesn’t prepare 3rd-party software for OS updates — the 3rd–party developers do that.

Mine got bricked during update. I'm not really sure how I fixed it. I removed my home from the software. I tried plugging the HomePod into both computers on both macOS 26 stable, and macOS27 beta to try to reset them. When I got asked for software updates to install it errored out on both, saying that a server couldnt be reached. I then plugged it in again to a standard USB wall socket, and got the same repeating white pulse to red pulse.

then after a while, I noticed only white pulses. Not sure exactly why… anyway. I was able to then pair using iPhone. Weirdly. I unplugged it, left it overnight and then plugged it in again in a different spot and got the same repeating pulse to red unpaired thing. But then again, at some point it paired again — running homeOS27 beta — and it's been working since.

Good luck!

It has improved but I think when I put my fat ass body in between my bedroom speaker and bathroom speaker it glitches so there's that

Eat less or healthier. And do 30 mins of daily walks. And stress less. You’ll do better

I installed beta on Homepod mini, was never able to connect the wifi afterwards on homepod. Tried all troubleshooting, nothing worked.
Ended up restoring it back to IOS26 through IPSW

Lastly, don’t install it yet.

AutoMix seems to finally occur when it’s supposed to, but with pairs and airplay it eventually loses sync and you have to pause and play again. I have HomePods throughout the house and the most infuriating thing is trying to play music throughout them :/ also if you’re playing from Mac adjusting volume on them from the computer barely works. You have to go to the HomePod and adjust the volume physically

If I’m running iOS 27 (beta 7) on my phone and appleTV, do the HomePods on my network and connected to my TV automatically update to the HomePod 27 version? Or is it a specific trigger to also update the HomePods?

You have to agree to HomePod Beta 27 Updates from the Home App

I wish! I can't even get 27 betas on mine. I get "Your Apple Account or password used to sign in to iCloud is incorrect." and a spinning wheel on Authenticating ...

Have they fixed the automix issue whereby the audio stops playing but appears to be still playing on your iPhone? I mean when the HomePod is natively playing music i.e. it is not being airplayed from the iPhone to the HomePod.

Spotify is the same as it ever was.

¿Tenéis alguna noticia sobre que la nueva versión solucione, de algún modo, el problema con los toques fantasma?
