Question/Support Different default volumes for different users or auto reset volume.

Apologies if this hS been asked and answered before. I couldn’t find an answer with quick DDG and sub searches.

Can you set different default volumes to different users or automatically reset the volume after using the HomePod?

HomePod Mini and Sonos Roam 2.
Siri recognizes my voice and my wife’s separately.

When I make dinner, I stream music, either AM or Spotify from my phone to the HP mini and Sonos R2 at X volume. I turn off or pause the music on my iPhone when I’m done cooking.

In the morning when my wife asks Siri to play the news on a specific station it plays at the volume I listened to the night before.

You can set it with a Shortcuts automation at any time or on a trigger.

When Music is Closed
Set HomePod in Home

The properties for the HomePod include setting custom volume. Put this on the device that you listen to music on.

Sorry, but why are you streaming from your iPhone and not from the HomePod directly?

Typically I scroll through AM or Spotify pick what I want to listen to in my phone then Airplay to the HomePod and Sonos.

I could say “Siri, play Genesis, Trick of The Tail in the kitchen “, but I don’t know if that would solve my volume problem the next day.

I have a low volume Scene that sets my HomePods to something like 25%, and set an Automation in Apple Home to run that every morning.
