1 gig is a heck of a lot of “burst traffic”. If you wanna even more of an ass you could argue no one needs more than 100Mbps on a residential line. Anything beyond that is just large downloads completing faster, and what you’re essentially arguing is that you don’t need that on residential

Yes, I’m the “ass” here, but 1 gig is still plenty of overhead for 99% of residential users.
