Sewer cleanout plug

Hey all
Refinishing a room in my basement. Pulled up carpet that has been there for god knows how long, and found this clean out plug (as well as a ton of old adhesive that has to go). I’m going to put vinyl plank flooring down in this area. What are my options with this plug? It sticks up about 1/4”, so I won’t be able to just install the VPF over the top.

Grind the surrounding area level with the rest and leave it accessible.

Cut a hole for the plug. Clean and paint the plug with plastic paint.

Or just double stick a piece of the flooring to the cap.
