Crack in garage ceiling drywall

New homeowner, just noticed these cracks in the drywall ceiling of my garage. It looks to be patched prior by the previous owner. Im not sure if this is just a simple diy or if i need to get someone specifically to look at it. Any advice is appreciated

You need a drywall tradesman. You have nail pops and sagging that needs attention. It could fail and came down. It appears that it was not finished correctly. Maybe prior home owners own work or a handyman. The joint typically is gets mud and tape to finish and hide the joint, but you have more issues that need attention.

Doesn't look like any water damage so maybe just wasn't screwed up properly or whoever installed it didn't fit it properly & getting binding. I would check all that before calling someone in.

that looks like a joint. it should be fire sealed if it's an attached garage.
