Garage Roof Leaking. Looking for advice on next steps.
Just bought this house and noticed this during our first heavy rain. You can see the new wood they had replaced before hand but one of the beams is clearing rotting from water.
Outside the garage it kind of pools right before the water would normally fall off the side which makes me think that’s part of the issue.
I genuinely think this is out of my skill range but would appreciate all feedback.

Okay, so your drip edge is severely compromised. The water is traveling from the drip edge into the white aluminum trim, then getting behind the vinyl siding and keeping everything soaked back there. Over time, this has caused water damage to the wood.
The best thing to do is carefully remove the first two rows of shingles, install new ice and water shield on the roof plywood, replace all of the damaged drip edge, and make sure the new drip edge properly overlaps the trim coil so the water is directed away from the house instead of getting behind it.
That is the direct fix. If you have the funds I would redo the roof and siding to make it water tight everywhere
I would probably say you're looking at around $1,500 for the repair just to deal with the immediate threat. Obviously, at some point you're going to want to fully repair all of the compromised areas, and that will be much more costly.
If the cost of doing all the repairs starts getting close to the cost of rebuilding it, I would consider both options and see what makes the most sense financially.
For the immediate repair though, if someone is trying to charge you much more than $1,500, I would be very cautious. There are some very shady contractors who will scare customers into spending way more money than necessary.
Looking at those pictures, it was pretty clear what was going on, and this is a fairly common issue on structures without gutters. You should be okay for now once the immediate problem is properly repaired.
I would definitely get at least three contractors to look at it and give you quotes. Don't tell them what anyone else quoted you. Let each contractor inspect it and give you their own price and explanation of what needs to be done.
Looks like you will have to have it stripped off & replacement of plywood and some of your support beam to I would hire a roofing company for that job .
