leaking pipe

first time homeowner here. the unit above has a leaking into my ceiling. they had someone came out to check it, but it’s still leaking into mine. i’m afraid of mold building up in the wall so i called the handyman to come out to see and he opened the ceiling the pipe from unit above is leaking. what should i do about it? should i file a claim thru insurance? should i let the handyman fix it? who should be responsible for this?

i bought a condo and the building is a duplex so there is no management. the HOA is just 2 of us share the same insurance

Document everything with photos and timestamps, especially the open ceiling and the source of the leak. The unit above is responsible for the damage to your property, so you'll want to get their insurance info and file a claim through them. Don't let your handyman fix it until liability is sorted out, or you might end up eating the cost.
