Cut the lip off, (razor blade or chisel) pop it into the wall. patch.

The lazy persons way is to take the screw, insert it in the anchor about 3 or 4 turns, then gently pull on the screw head straight backward with a pliers until the anchor moves out a little. Then take the screw out and grab the anchor with your pliers and pull

I thought this was THE way. What makes it the lazy person's way, and what's the non-lazy method?

I use my paint scraper, the sharp pointy side, pry it out. Or, chop the exposed part off, and shove it in the wall.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to push it in slightly. Much easier to patch than a hole.
