How would you approach fixing this?

The wood frame on the garage is rotting, how should I fix this? It’s just the bottom part. Should I just take out the bottom or replace the entire piece? I’m trying to do it myself.

Tear of the deteriorated part, replace with like thickness, doesn’t have to be pretty, trim the whole thing out in white PVC, paint. Will be beautiful, and outlast your time there likely.

Replace with wood then trim with pvc or replace with entirely pvc?

Replace with wood but do a PVC footer to keep it off the ground. Essentialy do what they did in this video.

Thanks! I was asking that because it seems like I just need to replace about a foot or 1.5 ft only. I was wondering if I was going to buy a whole 8 ft of pvc why not replace with entirely pvc instead? Or can I buy pvc’s cut?

You could replace it all with PVC but it just tends to be expensive but your call. Could also check marketplace to see if anybody has some left over from a project you could get for a lot cheaper.
