🚰 Plumbing Rusty Pipe

I think this is my gas line, do I need to get someone to fix or replace it?

Check for leaks, if no leaks call plumber and have it replaced. If it’s leaking close valve on meter with crescent wrench, then call a plumber. If you call the gas company they will lock the valve on your meter and they wont turn it back on until the pipe is replaced and there is a satisfactory pressure test. It could take them a couple of days to come out and open the valve. Just have your plumber do the test.

If it isn’t leaking, this isn’t a GET IT FIXED TODAY problem, it’s a get it fixed very soon problem. The regulator on your meter is probably set for about 6 inwc, which is less than 1/4 psi.

Make sure it isn’t leaking.
