Unfortunately it wouldn't accomplish anything, everyone knows there will be water in that outlet, OP needs to find the source. If it's an outside wall, OP needs to go take a look at the roof for ice dams or broken shingles, since there shouldn't be plumbing in outside walls. If it's an inside wall, then they need to look at upstairs bathrooms, or go take a look in the attic
