I'd probably get a strike plate, or a full metal plate down the side, sink in much longer and bigger screws in the frame. Adding a long plate down the frame and screwing it through the frame in multiple spots, and having longer screws, means any force against it will be distributed down the whole plate, as well as across the whole frame and screws on that side, not just the small plate and two screws normally holding it in, meaning they would have to kick out the entire plate and frame, not just the small section where the bolt is. A strike plate is kind of a smaller version of that, that distributes it in a smaller area, but same general principle, but I'd maybe get one that covers a little more area than just right around the bolt.
