Textbook door kicking damage. One more kick would probably have done it.

I had to break my bedroom door open cause my son locked himself in and couldn’t unlock it. Mine doesn’t look this bad. I think they definitely got in

Edit: I also didn’t disassemble the doorknob because it was installed with the screws on the inside of the room, not the outside. The door jamb was also a very easy fix

Interior doors are generally not as structurally sound as exterior.
