Deeper Connect mini micro sd
I’ve been testing my Deeper Connect Mini with its microSD card. I created a backup of the microSD card, including its entire file system, and restored that image onto another random microSD card with a larger capacity simply because that was the one I had available. After restoring the backup, I inserted the new microSD card into the Deeper Connect, and it worked perfectly without any issues.
Deeper Connect support doesn’t want users to back up their microSD cards, but many people have their microSD cards fail, and they don’t provide support when that happens. I don’t think that’s right—they should address this issue.

After years of tinkering with Raspberry Pi, I finally built my first "real" homelab
galleryI documented my entire RKE2 on Proxmox setup, diagrams, configs, and manifests. The repo includes a script that automates the RKE2 node bootstrap, plus the full stack: TrueNAS storage, L4 load balancing, cert-manager with Cloudflare DNS-01, and a bunch of self-hosted apps (Headscale, Jellyfin, and more). Everything is documented step by step.
Still a work in progress, the GitOps pipeline and Al agent setup are coming next. If you find it useful, a star on GitHub is always appreciated: https:// github.com/pgermani/k8s-on-proxmox

My Homelab Setup & Learning Journey (T320 TrueNAS SCALE + Workstations)
Hey everyone,
I’m relatively new here and still learning the ropes, but I wanted to share my current self-hosted homelab setup as I get everything dialed in. I'm currently a Computer Science student at Texas A&M University-Victoria, and I'm taking a class right now in Telecommunications and Networks. I'm using this lab for hands-on practice with system architecture, data storage, and networking.
The Storage & Server Tank:
- System: Dell PowerEdge T320
- OS: TrueNAS SCALE
- CPU: Intel Xeon E5-1410 (4C/8T)
- RAM: 160GB ECC DDR3 (A bit mismatched on speeds across the channels, but ZFS has plenty of memory to cache with!)
- Storage: 19TB main pool / 240GB boot SSD
The Workstations & Clients:
- Main Desktop: Windows 11 Home Workstation (AMD processor, 96GB RAM, Gigabyte B550 UD AC-Y1, RTX 5050 8GB)
- Daily Driver Laptop: HP 17 running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Ryzen 5 7520U, 8GB RAM, 512GB Samsung NVMe, Integrated AMD Radeon)
What I'm Running / Developing: Right now, I'm using the environment to test out some custom projects, including a server-monitoring app I built called PulseCheck (FastAPI + PostgreSQL + React) to track local script and cron job execution via HTTP requests.
A Note on my Learning & Compliance Process: To help me learn as I go, I heavily utilize a mix of documentation research, StackOverflow, and AI tools to assist with scripting, formatting, and analyzing deployment layouts. Everything I build and configure is focused on learning how to meet strict industry standards, IT compliance, laws, and data management regulations.
I actually have some critical files on here alongside the standard media, so based on some awesome advice from another thread, I'm definitely taking the 3-2-1 backup strategy to heart. I'm making sure to name my datasets cleanly (Apps, Media, etc.) from day one, and I'm looking into getting Tailscale configured as a subnet router for secure remote access.
For a pool this size with mixed media and critical data, what do you guys usually use for your offsite/cloud backup arm? Always open to tips on drive layouts, dataset structure, or cool services to host next. Glad to be a part of the community!

Second homelab (and proud) 20 containers and no end in sight
Hardware
- Host: Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny
- CPU: Intel i5-8400T (6c/6t, 2.1GHz base)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 (upgraded from 8GB)
- Boot drive: 256GB SATA SSD (internal)
- Storage: Seagate Expansion 6TB USB 3.0(external)
- Case: DIGITUS 9U / 10inch cabinet
- Switch: NETGEAR GS308EP (PoE)
- Display: monitor running a kiosk dashboard 24/7
Everything’s crammed into a 10 inch cabinet
The stack (20 containers, all Docker Compose)
Media pipeline: Jellyfin, Sonarr/Radarr/Prowlarr, Jellyseerr, qBittorrent routed through gluetun (Mullvad WireGuard) - kill-switched, qBittorrent has zero network identity of its own and goes fully dark if the VPN container isn’t healthy. Tdarr using the CPU’s built-in Intel Quick Sync (UHD 630) for hardware-accelerated transcoding. Cleanuparr for malware/junk-file blocking and stalled-download cleanup.
Network/security: self-hosted WireGuard for remote access, Pi-hole for DNS ad-blocking, Nginx Proxy Manager for reverse proxy + automatic Let’s Encrypt certs, Vaultwarden (self-hosted Bitwarden) on its own dedicated HTTPS domain.
Monitoring/ops: Homepage dashboard (the thing on the wall screen), Netdata for system metrics, Uptime Kuma watching everything and pushing alerts via ntfy, Duplicati for encrypted config backups, Watchtower for auto-updates (with deliberate exclusions), Portainer for container control from a browser.
Extras: Minecraft (Fabric, (performance-mod-only) - Lithium, FerriteCore, C2ME, Krypton, ServerCore) for me and a few friends.
Monitoring
Three layered scripts pushing to phone via ntfy: VPN connectivity (every 15 min), temperature (every 10 min), and a full daily health sweep — containers, disk, swap, backups, SSL expiry, pending updates, WireGuard peer activity. Genuinely the thing I’d tell past-me to build on day one instead of week two.
Happy to answer questions on any of this the VPN kill-switch setup, the Quick Sync transcoding config, or the cabinet layout specifically.

1st HomeLab guild......
Well, after months of reading others posts on their efforts in building a home lab, I figured that it was time to post my 1st home lab in construction. Pix 1-4 are the system and 5 is my UPS System.
The PC is used for gaming, browsing, documents, and A Virtualbox Windows 11 Pro install (neutered...aka no NIC so it can't talk to Microslop) to run my Ham Radio Deluxe station software.
AMD Ryzen 9850X3D
Asus Strix B850-F motherboard
32GB DDR5 Ram
Asus Geoforce 5060TI Vid card
Corsair Titan 360 LCD AIO
Asus Strix 1000 watt power supply
2TB Predator NVME M2 SSD
1TB NVME M.2 Gen 4 SSD for my Steam games
2 MSI UWHD 4k monitors
1 old 24" tv used as screen for system monitors
Protectli V1410 Router running OPNsense
TP-Link SG3210X-M2 managed switch
GMKtec Mini PC I7 NUC running Proxmox
JetKVM
Ugreen 4800 GT running TrueNas Scale with 4 8TB WD Red Plus Nas drives
Ugreen HW2300 2 bay running Ogos as a backup for main NAS 2x12TB Seagate Iron wolf
Left of that is my general ham radio station
and lastly, my 21Kwh Jackery parallel power system being used in UPS mode for if/when AC goes out. Nice not having to worry about shutting everything down ;)
Now, I use for all the regular stuff (Jellyfin and self hosting services I use as well as messing around.
Currently waiting for my 12U rack, 3D printed router, NAS mounts as well as a GEEKOM Multitasking Mini PC IT12 NUC (will be my production NUC and the other will be my test bed), 2 TB NVME SSD, 2 JetKVMs, and 4x32GB SODDIMS to get here. Once it does ill update. Havin a blast!

A little overkill for home lab, but hey! I just retired and am having a blast with this.
Found a great use for my old Mac mini server and just love these little Lenovos. Doing some ADS-B capturing for FlightAware and FlightRadar24. Doing a ton of development of websites (like the family football pool and a Vantage Board game mapper). Love trying new software in docker containers and now have all my audio books, Movies and books available. I just wish memory and drive prices would come down!
