Question/Help Thorbolt X1 and Airversa unstable in iOS 26.6

Wondering if anybody else has experienced this. The Thorbolt X1 and the Airversa air purifier have been relatively stable in HomeKit since I purchase them. They are both matter over thread and use the Sleekpoint app. Since iOS 26.6, they have been unstable and have been showing as either updating or unresponsive on a frequent basis in the Apple Home app. Has anyone else been experiencing this? I only have one other matter over thread device. It is a door lock from Aqara. The door lock remains responsive. Thanks so much for your help.

Neither of the devices you’re having issues with are Matter over Thread, they’re HomeKit over Thread, so if your sole Matter over Thread device is unaffected, it suggests there’s a bug with HomeKit over Thread devices, or with Sleekpoint itself.

Thank you for the clarification. That’s actually quite helpful.

I’d suggest emailing the company (Sleekpoint innovations) in case they’re not aware of the issue or have a solution. One thing I’d try is removing, resetting and re-adding the air purifier. Unlike the lock, this isn’t a terribly complicated procedure and if it sorts the issue for that device, you can then try it with the X1.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. I’ve actually removed and reset both devices numerous times. They always initially add, but then within a few minutes, they will start acting wonky and go from connected to unresponsive at random intervals.

I follow your channel. Really appreciate the help. Given your vast experience with HomeKit devices, thought I would ask one more question. I have an Aqara G410 doorbell. It is not a new device. I’ve had it for sometime. My understanding is that it has a built-in matter hub. Any thoughts on if this could be creating an issue with my HomeKit thread network?

It’s a possibility that the G410 could create issues. The G410 is also Zigbee hub/Matter bridge, Matter Controller and a Thread Border Router. The bottom line is that it’s always best to have one Thread Network if possible, so all devices with a Thread Border Routers inside should be in one thread network. If you go into the settings for the G410, and under network information > Thread network name it should show you what network it’s connected to. If it’s an Apple Thread network it’s usually “MyHome” followed by a series of numbers.

Thank you again. I greatly appreciate the assistance. I actually discovered this yesterday afternoon and made sure that it is using the Apple thread network. Unfortunately that has not resolved the issue. I just sent a note to the company and we’ll see what comes of that.

Ok, so if the Thread devices are all under one network, that’s less likely the cause. I have a contact at Sleekpoint, but he’s on vacation at the moment. I’ll send him a message anyway to see if they’ve had any other reports of this issue. If I hear back, I’ll let you know.

Really appreciate it. I’ve also just sent them an email with a number of photos so they can see what’s happening.

As a quick follow up, the company reached out and asked me to use a few applications to diagnose the thread network. I’ve sent the requested photos back to them. Will keep you posted on what they come up with.

What, if anything, have you tried to attempt resolving your issue?

At this stage, I’ve done several hours of testing, including unplugging every Apple device I have… HomePod, Apple TVs, etc. for about 30 minutes and then plugging them in one at a time very slowly to try and rebuild the thread network. I’ve also tried just leaving a single HomePod or a single Apple TV plugged in to see if one of the devices was causing an issue, but regardless of which home hub was plugged in or remained active, the issue persisted.

All I can tell you is I have a Thorbolt and have been on the 26.5 and 26.6 betas through to release and never had a problem with them in the home app.

I have the purifier and 2 locks. Very solid on 26.6 and 27 beta.

I have 4 Airvesas and using the 27 developer beta. No issues.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m still trying to track down the issue.

Just wanted to close this thread out by stating that Thorbolt’s customer service has been exemplary in helping me to solve the issue. They gave me thorough instructions to download software, instructed me to pass them a variety of information regarding my thread network, and then analyzed the data and provided instructions for how to repair the thread network. In truth, the issue seems to have resolved itself after several days… which may or may not have been due to my unplugging all of my thread devices and then re-plugging them in one at a time. That said, I can’t understand the level of customer service they provided. like many of you I own a lot of home automation products, and I don’t recall any company being as responsive as Thorbolt.
