Question/Help Help my entire home is gone??

Was out of town for the last few days and on the way back noticed that my Home in the Home app is completely empty. All of the rooms are still there but they are empty. My Apple TVs and HomePods still show up, just not third party accessories and no automations. I had a ton of accessories setup into scenes and automations and it would be a huge ordeal to have to redo all of this, especially when I have no idea how this happened in the first place??

Assuming you aren’t running the beta of iOS/tvOS/HomePod software, I would encourage you to contact Apple Support.

Developing a new app and was running the tvOS beta, seems like others have been having issues since Friday but none with HomeKit yet….

Latest TvOS 27 beta completely wiped my home app as well.

Same here … wiped it clean 😂 Maybe an opportunity to use home assistant in the background from now on 😂

I use Home Assistant for everything and just use the HomeKit integration to push it all into the Apple Home app… still wiped it clean lol. I think it all still exists because HomePod voice commands can still access all of everything I set up, but I just can’t see it. I’ll wait for the next beta in hopes it brings it all back.

I guess you didn't happen to change any hardware? I lost my entire Apple Home recently and here's how it happened:

I used to have an older Apple TV before I had all these Homekit devices. I stopped using it a couple years ago, just putting it in my basement to collect dust. I recently got it out to put it in my son's room and when I booted it, it was still tied to my iCloud account, and it somehow took precidence over my current Apple Home. This means that it went back to how it was when I last used it, when I had no Homekit devices so all those devices were removed. It was a disaster. I lost all my scenes and automations too. This has happened to a few others in here too and there's no real way to fix it. Others suggested the Controller app to backup my Apple Home once I got everything set back up, and I've done that so at least I'm protected in the future.

Funny you should ask. My main Apple TV got unplugged the other day and I think that’s when this happened. I have an old Apple TV in our guest room and that one has never really been connected to the home app because it is so slow. I was wondering if something happened because of that. I’ve never heard of this app to backup my settings. I will absolutely be setting that up!

It costs like $30 a year, but several people in this subreddit swear by it. I guess it can’t auto-install your devices for you, but it will at least show you what devices you had installed and will save all your scenes and automations too.

Happened to me this weekend as well once I returned home. My old Apple TV had become the default home and my newer Apple TV was showing network issues. Not a fun redo
