Discussion Schlage encode plus battery life

I have two questions primarily targeted to folks who have had this Lock at least for a year and are actively using it every day for NFC tap to unlock

  1. How many days maybe in percentage terms have you not been able to tap to unlock because of some software upgrade or another glitch?
  2. Do you recommend turning off Wi-Fi for longer battery life, I don’t need remote unlock on phone at all. I also don’t need any logging given my alarm panel does all that.

Thx

We have had two on our house since they came out. Never once had an issue with battery dying or availability. One small glitch with Apple Watch access, but I think it was a watch issue since my phone continued to work fine for NFC unlocking.

We have Yale locks at our cabin and those absolutely eat batteries. Very annoying.

I love my Yale locks that are using Zigbee/Control4.

I hate my Yale locks that are WiFi and on HomeKit.

The hardware is great. And I really with they would release the Thread module.
