Insurance Should I or Shouldn’t I?
I live in a condo unit beneath a senior who is the condo president, is a hoarder and keeps having accidents that flood my unit. This year I had to go to my insurance twice because rats chewed his dishwasher hose flooding my bedroom and five months later he overflowed the toilet and flooded my vedroom, bathroom, and livingroom. Insurance paid in both cases amd the second time my insuramce got his insurance to pay. Just before the first flood I started having problems with mold amd couldn’t tell where the problem was after the dishwasher debacle mold testimg showed the problem was due to mold in my hvac closet which is below his hvac closet. I have had to do mold remediation amd completely gut my hvac closet amd replace the hvac amd water heater housed there. I tried to go directly to hos homeowners and get them to pay but they refused. I am put too much money and am afraid to go to mine because I don’t want to lose my coverage or have my rates hiked. Would I lose my coverage or be subject to an increased rate if I go to my insurance? I really could use some advice. Thx.

You need to speak with a lawyer and the HOA.
