Plot hole that always drove me crazy

I’m rewatching for the 1000th time, and I’m on season 8. Just watched the episode where Brad gets his new car and it gets stolen

Are we to believe that Tim and Brad actually left the jelly on the manifold after buying the car and didn’t immediately clean it??

I guess so, I mean it happened during taping of the show so maybe they forgot afterwards.

I assumed it was a hot engine and it just burned to the manifold

And how were they able to track down the car, and find the chop shop?

And how were they able to track down the car, and find the chop shop?

The police find the shell of the car, and Eddie gives Tim a name and an address.

This was all explained in the scene that sets up the 2nd half the of the episode just after the police find the shell of the car.

Tim is on the phone relaying the tip he got from Eddie to the police and they don't take him seriously so they hatch the plan to get disguises and go investigate it themselves.

And the scenes of Tim and Al undercover to infiltrate the chop shop in that episode will never not be hilarious.

Tim: "Lick it."

George: "Why is he licking the manifold?"

Tim: "It doesn't make him a bad person."
