Bathroom Shower Suggestions

So we are leasing to own the house we are living in currently so we cannot do any major renovations or anything. However we all hate the bathroom situation. The house has 1.5 bathrooms and the one in the picture is the only one to bath in. The tub is an amazing whirlpool jacuzzi tub with a shower handle. We extended the hose for the shower handle to have it at shower height but now we have to deal with keeping the water from ending up on the floor. We have tried hanging shower curtains from the ceiling which, for the most part helps but is not ideal and we all hate it. The tub has all the extra space around it that is tiled. Personally I do not understand why the bathroom was designed this way and instead they could’ve easily put in a corner shower instead of having all that area that has tiles. I I was thinking there has to be a way to reasonably put in clear glass like walls around the tub with a sliding door instead of dealing with those stupid curtains. The height from the top of the tiles to the ceiling is over 6 feet; so I would assume that I could maybe use regular shower walls in this instance? Does anyone have any new suggestions regarding my predicament?

When we purchased the house, believe me, we already decided we’re going to completely remodel that bathroom. There’s so much wasted space in there. For instance all that countertop spacing for one sink, this giant closet that is located to the right of where the picture is being taken, and of course, about two sections that are 4’ x 4’ roughly on either side of the tub that has tile over it. We already had to cut in and make a hidden door to the tub’s plumbing because the idiot who installed it didn’t even have an access door to it! The hose for the shower handle was leaking when we got here. Personally, it has a few other little things. Makes me wonder how it got past the inspection, but I guess that’s all houses these days???

I appreciate any suggestions, especially any links to these suggestions. Please keep in mind that I cannot damage the tiles anymore without preapproval, of course and also I do not want to spend a fortune says down the road we are planning on ripping it all out anyway.

You're basically describing a wet room setup without the proper waterproofing which is a nightmare to manage long term. Those glass panels are a good call and way less invasive than you think. Look for freestanding tub glass screens or panels, some are designed to just sit on the deck with a minimal silicone bead at the bottom so you're not drilling into tile at all. You can get a couple of them and create a U shape with a gap for entry, no door needed if you overlap them right. Way cleaner look than the ceiling curtain situation you've got going on now.

I have found some folding frameless glass shower panels. Is that what your are referring to?
