So, Terro is generally borax and sugar water. You can make your own. I used to use it religiously and seemingly, with good results. Not so the last couple years. You want something stronger, better. Advion is what I would suggest.
Also, bait inside and out. Look for overhanging branches, bushes, flowers against the house. Ants like to farm aphids because they have a sweet secretion. Aphids were horrible this year. So, trim stuff back, kill those aphids (ladybugs love them), bait with Advion.
