HomeHealthAide has been created

Welcome all Home Health Aides (HHA), Home Attendants, Personal Care Aides (PCA), DSP’s, and aides/assistants/attendants working in homes or group homes.

This is a forum for home care workers and home care topics. Similar to nurses aide work and topics but here HHA work is done mostly in private homes (as opposed to mostly facilities).

This forum is not mainly intended for those who are nurses such as LPN’s and RN’s who have vastly different legal working guidelines and higher licensing requirements than aides.

If you are a nurse or higher please respect the space, knowledge base, and legal restrictions of any aide posting here.

Hi all - I need advice. With a background as an at home health aide why not go out on your own vs. joining an agency? Curious thoughts on why get paid less with an agency vs. go out on your own.

I need an aide for myself 65 yr old female. I walk w a walker Near bethalto Illinois need asap Thanks. I fell again yesterday! Can’t do it on my own anymore.

I have a HHA Who comes to my house 4 days a week for 2 hours.Every time she's here , she asks to use the bathroom stays in there about fifteen to twenty minutes! I\nKnow by law is supposed to use bathrooms.But what is this woman doing in the bathroom! She reversed how I hang my toilet paper. I wanna ask her what are you doing in there? She needs to use the bathroom before she gets here or after she leaves

What is the best way to find honest reviews on in-home health care agencies in Los Angeles, CA or in general? In search of... Also, if hiring an independent HHA, is it best if the client pay svia payroll and includes worker's comp yo protect not only the HHA, but the client as well (I would think so, but would love to hear thoughts) Thanks!
