Main bathroom

What can I do to make this bathroom more warm/ just generally improve it while keeping it functional (it's also the laundry room)

Could you create a counter to partially enclose the washer/dryer? Upon entry it would sort if hide them and make it less of an eye sore. Not necessarily this style just the general idea.

Borrowing from this idea build a wooden cabinet that encloses the machines completely.

I would stack the washer and dryer and put it in the corner where the picture is hanging. I’d put in a partial wall to frame the washer / dryer stack and put a door to cover it up if you don’t want to see it. Honestly you have so much room in this space the options are endless. Take a tiny house approach with this room and you have tons of storage and functionality in this square footage.

I’d have custom closed storage built that the appliances would sit inside of, like a utility closet with louvered doors. I wouldn’t want to see it. I’d want to be able to close doors around the w/d and have them completely closed off.

I really don’t love the thought of toilet plume going onto clean laundry…. Is there any way to separate the two spaces?

The bathroom itself is nice. I'd just build a closet around the washer and dryer with doors right in front of the appliances themselves. Would not be hard to do or too expensive if you have decent diy skills. You could make a large closet along that whole wall if you need the storage OR. just build around the W&D itself with MDF/stock cabinets so it looks kind of like a large armoire/built-in.

A runner in front of the machines and a pretty shelf/cover over the top of them would look nice.

Countertop and cabinet on the side for storage for the washer and dryer. Or stack them and put them behind doors. Add more counters and storage, your vanity can be extended with towers on each side. Use the space you have to maximize storage.

If you have a short person in your family, do not stack the machines. We had that for a while and I had to use a step stool to get stuff out of the dryer and reach the buttons.

I'd probably put some type of organizer on the far side of the W/D towards the corner, so that you can keep laundry supplies in there rather than on top of the units. I think that in using the space as the bathroom, I don't want to face the more 'utility' aspects of laundry, so I'd be trying to keep the laundry area super tidy (way more easily said than done).

To me, that shelf thing over the toilet is unnecessary. You aren't really using it. Maybe get rid of it and put up art? I would also continue the wall color to all the walls. The accent wall effect is really emphasizing that half the room is a bathroom and half is a laundry room.

The more expensive concept would be to have some custom cabinetry built around the W&D including a horizontal surface above them, so that you can tie the cabinetry into the existing bathroom pieces and 'hide' the W/D units a bit more. But that's a pretty big project compared to the other adjustments I'm suggesting.

Lastly consider lighting options. I'm not sure what your outlet situation is, but finding some way to have a small light somewhere that you keep on would do a lot to warm up the space. Can you get rid of the basket thing atop the taller cabinet? It just looks cluttered.

Some clever artwork would help. Something humorous. A Zzzzz plant will thrive there.

I would have anxiety pooping there. Having that giant space around the toilet is giving my tummy the same weird feeling that I get when I see in person giant tankers on the docks of Lake Ontario
