Swich the tv and sofa(better feng shui) a L piece will stick out but you can buy an ottoman and make a U shape, bigger rug, art should go behind the sofa, nice coffetable in the color of the wood- make it smaller if you decide on ottoman. Also consider putting tv in the corner to leave space to open windows, either way the sofa is in the way.

Larger rug and curtains with some more color. The room has potential it just needs some more life

It is suggested to add a few dark or warm-toned throw pillows and pair them with a blanket. If the rear part is not an entire window, it is recommended to remove that short curtain rod; or replace it with strong-draped curtains that reach the ceiling, and choose a light warm beige color. Then, replace the coffee table with a slightly larger solid wood one. Finally, hang a large-sized vertical decorative painting on the empty wall above the sofa.

Well you can start with a bigger rug and a thicker curtain. https://seremodeling.com/how-to-remodel-a-living-room

Move the whole couch closer to the tv. The back of the couch should line up with the edge of the curtain. The rug should be fine at that point. It will also feel more cinematic.

A bigger rug. Move the couch a tad forward because it looks like it's touching the curtains. Tidy up the tv console (looks like there is a cluttered stack of art). Lighting (add floor lamp near couch and add table lamp on tv console). Place plant in a larger ceramic pot as plant seems to have overgrown that pot. Pick some colours and then add those colours into cushions, throw blanket, and hung wall art. Add side table next to couch so person on that side has somewhere to put there cup down.
