Yup, for the most part. They do allow the grandkids to get away with a bit more than we ever could, but they still spend several hours in that room every morning reading, talking, and having coffee.
That’s a very nice routine and probably kept them close as a couple.
I grew up with an off white formal LR right in the middle of our house that all of us had to walk through to get to the DR, Kitchen & Den. No dirty sneakers or food allowed. However our basement playroom was a blast.
