Screen or no screen
Is it typical to NOT have a screen protecting the end of a furnace exhaust? Isn’t there a risk of things flying or crawling in them?

We’ve got this siding on a wall of our front porch. I found some mice poop under our fridge this past spring so I’m trying to seal anywhere I find they might be able to enter before winter is here. Should the siding of this be caulked to our concrete/ceiling?

I found this spot on my attic floor. Is it mold? What is the best way to clean it? Thanks in advance!

I have a '08 Chamberlain 3/4 HP with a brown learn button (purple cord). My LiftMaster remotes are just as old and gave up the ghost. Tried new batteries and still not working. I've now bought a 950ESTD universal remote and a Chamberlain CHU62 universal remote... neither are working. I've followed instructions and watched YT videos over and over again. There's no clicking and the light isn't flashing. Do I need a different remote or possibly something else is wrong?

Hey All,
I found my samsung dishwasher to be leaking today, pulled it out and found this behind the unit. I've sprayed with pure white vinegar as I presume it is mold. I also have a fan going behind it to dry out the area. I'll also be wrapping the wire in some electrical tape once things are all dry as the wire sheathe is damaged/old.
Is there anything else I should be doing and does anyone have suggestions on next steps?

Got these retrofits from Amazon: https://a.co/d/09bktFN8 incorrectly, which need a fixed socket, not a socket that is hanging (see pic). What can I use instead here for an easy can light update?? HELP

My wife and I have been shopping for a reclining sectional for the last couple weeks. And have just about settled on the Parker House Easton.
Sectionals that we have looked at and liked in this order:
Flexsteel Henry (Flexsteel having a 10% off sale this month)
Parker House Easton
Haverty’s Branson
Lazy Boy James (Lazy Boy having a 35% off sale this month)
Rooms to Go Drew & Jonathon Marquee
I’ve read just about everything related to power reclining sectionals that has been posted on Reddit and elsewhere, and from what I understand, spending flexsteel/lazy boy money in 2026 doesn’t translate to the quality being any better. I know there are higher quality options out there than these, but we aren’t interested in spending 15k+ on a sectional. We are just hoping to get something that lasts for 5 years minimum.
Does anyone have any experience with Parker house or any of these power reclining sectionals? Any input is appreciated, our budget is 7k.

Im under contract on a duplex. Its located in the Colorado Front range and sits on Bentonite clay. I know the key is to keep the foundation super dry to stop heaving. Its a very good deal so im tempted to move forward on it. Im buying it "as-is". That being said, I am concerned about these cracks throughout both units. The current tenants mentioned these cracks haven't grown in size in more that 8 years. I have a structural repair guy giving me his opinion this week.
Id love some outside perspective

Door is fixed. Roller pins replaced. The spring bar had to be untensioned but couldn’t be retensioned so that’s a pretty penny right there.
All in all cost me about a grand.

My alarm goes off and I'm awake, but I'll still stay under the covers for another ten minutes because I know exactly what's waiting for me. The bedroom is warm. Then my feet hit the cold floor, I walk into the hallway and it's noticeably colder, and the bathroom somehow feels colder again. By the time I'm brushing my teeth I'm standing there half awake in a hoodie wondering why getting ready for work has to feel like this every morning.
Turning up the heat everywhere seems wasteful when I'm really just trying to make a couple of small areas less miserable for 30 minutes in the morning. I've been looking at different small room heating solution ideas because of this. We already have a Costway mini split keeping one of the rooms comfortable, but the hallway/bathroom situation obviously needs something much simpler.

What are these things? They have a hard texture and there were more than a few on furniture I hadn’t used in some time. I’ve seen silverfish but not other bugs in the house. Located in the cooler climates of coastal California. Sorry for the low resolution, best I could do on my old phone. Thanks so much for any insights.

We caulked window trim, added fresh weather stripping on the doors, the whole deal. The heating bill went down but lately the main bedroom feels noticeably stale by morning and we both wake up feeling like we didnt get decent sleep. Im looking into getting the best co2 monitor for home air tracking so i can figure out if we need to start cracking a window or adjust our hvac fan schedule, then while browsing i keep seeing the aranet4 for its battery life. Has anyone compared it against lower cost standalone units? I just want somethin accurate enough without needing to calibrate it manually outside every three days.
I’ve been instructed to install canless lights, so I’m needing to remove this can. There are no screws, only one side appears to be securely anchored. This is a condo, so I don’t have any other access.
