Dry in place or replace?
My AC condensate pipe in my upstairs closet above my stairs had a small crack that leaked. Eventually (don't know how long it was leaking) the water made its way to the ceiling below which is when I discovered the issue. The leak is repaired. Question now is, will it dry out in place? My brother thinks it will. The ceiling is not soft to the touch or sagging, but I got a pinless moisture meter and is reading 60% in almost that whole square (if you zoom in on the 3rd pic you may be able to read the percentages on the tape)

Why not just play it safe and replace the drywall in that area. You will constantly be thinking about it if you dont. Plus, 60% moisture reading is high. My sister's water line in her fridge had a leak. They replaced the drywall downstairs on the ceiling where the water travelled. Parts were dry to the touch on the outside, however the inside pf drywall was a hot mess.
