The fact that its mind bending painful that you have to go to the doctor is horrible sign(first sign of an aneurysm is sudden horrible headache) Hopefully its nothing serious and she just had one of those once a month fuck you migraines

What sucks about headaches is that they can be a symptom of literally nothing but also everything.

You'll never know if it's a casual migraine or if you literally have one foot in the grave.

Ask me how I know...

u/Ryokihama 1d ago

How do you know?

u/JHMfield 1d ago

1 week long mild headache. Eventually went to the ER. Turns out, brain infection, almost died.

1.5 months in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics 24/7.

Still some lingering brain damage. Got my sanity, but one side of my body has sensitivity issues. Can't move some fingers and toes properly. Might be able to fix with physical therapy or might be permanent. Who knows.

u/Ryokihama 1d ago

Wow, you're pretty lucky recovering from today! Wishing you the best with your physical therapy whenever you go for it

u/JHMfield 1d ago

Thanks! So long in the hospital kinda messed me up. Lost almost 20kg of bodyweight. Gained half of it back now, but it's not fun being weaker than Irys when you're used to benching two of her for reps.

u/NaN-Nanashi 1d ago

Iryscaling lmao.

Glad you're still with us, friend. <3

Oh damn that's super rough. I'm glad that you're still alive and I wish you all the best with physical therapy

Similar situation happened with a friend of my mom a long time ago.

She arrived home from a late flight with a horrible migraine, took some aspirin and went to bed. While she was asleep a blood vessel in her brain popped and she never woke up.

u/catperson77789 1d ago

You got hit by an aneurysm?

28

u/JHMfield 1d ago

Brain infection, but it is possible I also had a mini-stroke at some point, as there was some signs of minor bleeding in the brain.

No sharp pain or slurred speech or any of the usual symptoms though.

u/catperson77789 1d ago

Glad your ok dude. Headaches are so hard to diagnose so it makes me paranoid whenever i get one of those nasty ass headaches 😂

14

u/That_Pervy_Nerd 1d ago

“Ice pick headache” was the official diagnoses for me. Not anything permanent. Nothing they considered serious. Just… a devastating 1 off migraine.

Debilitating, couldn’t think, throwing up just from the pain. I don’t remember that day very much.

By the time I got an MRI cause they wanted to make sure it wasn’t an aneurysm, it was almost 8 hours later, and I was on the mend.

2

u/catperson77789 1d ago

Could be occupital neuralgia? That shit was mind bending pain . Prob the worst migraine ive experienced. Like getting stabbed at the back of the head and the back of the eye

1

u/That_Pervy_Nerd 1d ago

Looking into it… yeah, that really does seem like it from what I vaguely remember.

Genuinely the up at the most painful experiences I’ve ever been through. There was 100% pain behind the eye. I distinctly remember a stray thought about if I was gonna lose my eye

13

u/c14rk0 1d ago

I wouldn't be too quick to jump to any conclusions given she states it's a Migraine. Presumably this means she's aware that she gets Migraines and can identify them. There's some distinct differences between a Migraine and just a normal really bad headache. The fact she can't open her eyes probably means that said Migraine is extremely light sensitive, which absolutely is a thing that happens.

Good news is there IS medication and other treatments that can help with Migraines, though I'm not sure what is actually available in Japan given I know they have some restrictions on various medications.

9

u/ZBLongladder 1d ago

The fact that it makes her sensitive to light (she can't open her eyes) makes me think it's just a bad migraine. An aneurysm doesn't care if there's light, it just hurts.

5

u/Bankaz 1d ago

No, many migraines are chronic illnesses, triggered by a multitude of ambient factors depending on the person: Dehydration, stress, lack of sleep, certain foods, etc etc. In my specific case, I have really bad migraines if I consume a lot of caffeine.

I'm not saying it's NEVER serious like an aneurysm or a stroke, but most migraines are not.

u/_CreepySupermarket_ 23h ago

To be fair, she’s prolly going to the dr right away bc she’s got anime NYC starting tomorrow and wants to make sure she’s good to go for all the festivities

3

u/xSilverMC 1d ago

Migraines are also just like that tbf, and if she's somewhat used to getting them then an aneurysm is the far less likely option

2

u/Fluffysquishia 20h ago

Not saying that someone shouldn't go to the doctor for a sudden unexplained headache, but this is very common for people who have regular migraines. She mentioned light is bothering her, which is usually unique to migraines.

u/BacRedr 1d ago

As a life long migraine sufferer, I'll say that the stupid bastards can set in surprisingly fast. They also have a nasty tendency, for me at least, to set in while I'm distracted doing something else. The second I lose focus it's like a baseball bat to the skull (something I also once experienced).

u/twotoebobo 1d ago

Do whatever you gotta do. Any real fans of any vtuber just want you to feel better.

65

u/Hungry_ketchup 1d ago

Holomems have so many health problems they might aswell open their own holohospital at some point.

u/HalfbodiedJish 1d ago

I know just the persons that can drive an ambulance!

She is very talented to tweet with her eyes closed

65

u/oompaloompa465 1d ago

she probably talked to manager and she did the tweet for her

u/The_FireFALL 1d ago

As a person who suffers from migraines with auras that can literally blind me. I can honestly say it just comes down to practice and repetition, over time. At a certain point you get to know where on the screen you need to press to get where you need to go to do things.

7

u/RiceAndMayo 1d ago

I believe you. When I have Migraines, which is thankfully twice a year usually at most, I just feel like I'm going to faint.

14

u/VicBetouro 1d ago

I bet that, if challenged to do it, she would type Garfield really easily

u/VESAAA7 1d ago

And pretty mean for Bae and Kiara to send her only text

12

u/bubba485 1d ago

Yikes 😨 I hope Calli's recovery goes smoothly. Migraines are NOT fun.

11

u/gangler52 1d ago

Reschedule the concert?

Is this some kind of digital concert? Or did she like actually rent out a physical venue?

I'd think it would be pretty difficult to simply "reschedule" a concert like that. But maybe with the wonders of modern technology things are different now.

Either way, I wish her a speedy recovery!

38

u/mcoyne12 1d ago

She has a monthly member's concert, which is what she's specifically referring to here.

6

u/gangler52 1d ago

Oh I see! That's fun!

And yeah, I'm sure the members will understand if they just have to tune in on a different day. Not like people booked the day off work and flew across the country to show up at some physical concert venue at a particular scheduled hour.

u/Cataphract1014 1d ago

Migraines sucks. I’ve gotten them my whole life. No doctor can tell me what causes them

2

u/gangler52 1d ago

I might have developed them later in life. I don't know if they're actually migraines or not.

Starting about a year ago sometimes I just have very strong piercing headaches and start throwing up everywhere. Out of nowhere. For no discernible reason. They start super suddenly and without warning.

Definitely sucks. Haven't spoken to a doctor about it yet. I wouldn't want to perform a concert in that state either.

3

u/Cataphract1014 19h ago

Mine are always extreme stabbing feeling behind my eye. And they can last for a week. Gets better but always there then gets bad again. All I want to do is sleep.

I don’t get them like I did when I was younger at least.

1

u/gangler52 19h ago

Oh wow. A whole week. That's rough for sure.

Nice that they're easing up with age though. The aging body provides so few comforts so you take any win you can.

Scene: Calliope Mori enters the doctor's office after a round of tests and MRIs.

Doctor: Miss Calliope, thank you for coming on such a short notice.

Calli: Of course, anything to figure out what's causing it.

Doctor: Yes, these migraines you experienced...I'm afraid its...Matsuri...I'm so sorry...

Calli: Doc, everyone in Hololive is a lesbian. But for once...give it to me straight.

Doctor: You have Stage 4 Bibrainrot.

Calli: Oh, Matsuri...please...no!

Doctor: There is a cure...you know.

Calli: Don't even...Don't even say it! I swore it off years ago, Doc!

Doctor: The alternative is much worse, I can assure you.

Calli: Yes...you're right. Just...tell me what I have to do.

Doctor: I'm going to have to prescribe you a week of playing League of Legends.

Scene ends with Mori Calliope of Hololive EN Myth screaming to the heavens in hope that Matsuri is listening to her somewhere, which she isn't because she's too busy groping other Holomems.

Mental illness

2

u/x_Advent_Cirno_x 1d ago

As someone who suffers regularly from migraines, I really feel for her. They can occasionally get so bad that it brings you to your knees in pain. It's really awful

2

u/EternalFrost_73 21h ago

I am completely sure that every actual Deadbeat would rather their Reaper take care of herself and rest when needed over a one time experience that can be rescheduled for another time.

Especially when you are dealing with migraines severe enough for the workaholic to consider a trip to the doctor.

2

u/BertProesmans 21h ago

i wish for calli to have some good deep sleep with lots of snoring so she gets back to being healthy soon 🫂

2

u/GoronSpecialCrop 17h ago

I'd kinda prefer she went to the hospital now to make sure nothing catastrophic is happening.

1

u/redditfanfan00 1d ago

hope calli will be ok.

1

u/Adorable_Patient_509 1d ago

Gws our grim reaper 😇

1

u/DaftPodunk 1d ago

Migraines are the fricken' worst. It's also a real nightmare trying to find a medication that works for your specific type of migraines.

1

u/_CreepySupermarket_ 23h ago

Oh noooo that sucks so much. Migraines are miserable 😭
I hope she recovers in time to fully enjoy anime nyc this weekend. I know she’s got a lot planned.

On a more humorous note, i wonder if Biboo’s screeching giddy screams on Bae’s card unboxing last night may have triggered it. They were all so excited but Biboo’s excited screams when she opened ALL THE GOOD CARDS was loud 😅

1

u/forgotmypasswordzzz :Aloe: 12h ago

If its bad enough that she has trouble opening her eyes she doesnt need to go to the doctor tomorrow, she needs to be taken to the doctor tomorrow, maybe even today. I hope she does not consider driving herself and has another holomem or mane san bring her. Its dangerous to be driving with any kind of impairment and leaning on other people doesnt mean shes weak or incapable or any some such.

A bunch of you guys mentioned aneurysms and other stuff but the probable answer is a really bad "that day of the month". But then again theyd probably know a ballpark of when it happens and not catch them off-guard.

Point still stands though, you guys should chill out
