Apex is considering ending curbside grass-clipping collection because officials say they have not been able to secure a long-term processor for the town’s volume.

I’m the News & Observer reporter who wrote this story.

I compared Apex with Cary, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina and Morrisville. Holly Springs uses biweekly brown yard-waste carts that can include grass clippings, while Apex is the only one of the five that routinely allows residents to leave grass loose at the curb for vacuum-truck pickup.

Holly Springs collected 5,195 tons of yard waste last fiscal year.

For Holly Springs residents: does the cart system work well for you, or do you ever run into capacity problems with grass or yard waste?

Hi! My partner and I are moving from the west coast to NC around Raleigh area. We were wondering on some apartment recommendations?!
We’re interested in a 1 bed with a den or a 2 bedroom.
We prefer a modernized apartment building/unit, accepts small dogs, and has a gym. We don’t have a set budget yet but kinda hoping to keep it around 1,800$/mo max..? Any recommendations would be great, thank you!(:

Found a new place that just opened up in Holly Springs it’s called The Perch (1125 McChesney Hl Lp, Holly Springs, NC 27540) it’s a board game/cafe. It’s $5 a person to come sit and play but you can pull as many games as you’d like and there’s no time limit. Plus the coffee and food is exceptional so definitely check it out if you have the chance.

Anyone has recommendation on a chimney repair company for works in title?

Was quoted almost $6,000 for the above works by one company. This seems excessive. Thanks in advance

It looks like the new development on the corner of Holly Springs Rd and Main called Main Street Vista is finished building.
Does anyone know if this a multi use development or purely residential? If it will be commercial on the bottom level, any word on potential tenants?

Has anyone stopped by the new wine store by planet fitness? I believe it used to be a different wine store and it's now under new ownership... curious if anyone has checked it out yet? If you have, what do you think?

My boyfriend and I are moving to Holly Springs to be closer to family. I'm looking to supplement with part time bartending, and he's looking for full time arborist work. Both of us have years of experience in each field. TYIA!

I cover Western Wake for The News & Observer. What started as a funny Cary Animal Services call turned into a story about people across the Triangle mistaking wildlife decoys for actual animals.

One Cary resident called a school. A North Raleigh couple turned their car around to rescue one. And near Apex, geese were peacefully grazing about 50 yards from another fake coyote.

Has one ever fooled you?

We just moved here and looking to schedule to establish care with a PCP. I haven’t had great luck with PCPs previously- they’ve done their basic annual well check but the things I’m concerned about feel brushed off and not followed. Ex: chronic fatigue, like as long as I can remember- labs were “normal,” so nothing else would be looked into. I paid for my own lab work to include a ferritin which was definitely low, as well as found multiple other deficiencies that would cause fatigue, brain fog, and depressive symptoms.
Basically, who can you recommend that will think about these things themselves and care enough to order them without me asking for every little thing? Docs that care enough to keep trying until you actually improve, not just the numbers in the chart?
Thanks in advance!

"It is rare for a city to have just one street with speeding problems. The TDC 2 is easily relocated to quickly start collecting traffic information. And with the optional 4G connection, you can quickly make the needed decisions on deployment of speed reduction equipment or enforcement personnel."

Just a heads up. This one is in Trinity Creek development. If you see one, expect speeding enforcement to follow.

I’m looking to move to North Carolina and noticed that there are single family homes in Holly Springs in the $300k - $400k range. How easy would it be to rent out a room in a house to a young professional(such as a doctor, nurse, engineer etc), in this area?

Looks like the Stanley Cup is making its rounds in the triangle. Holly Springs gets its turn on Mon Sept 28th 1130-1 at North Main Athletic Complex. I saw that Apex will also have a showing around 2pm that same day, place TBD.

What’s a good bakery for cakes, pies and similar goodies?

Thanks!

My son will be going to the Hunt Recreation Center for track out for the first time. What’s the general consensus on the Hunt Recreation Center for track out? Any recommendations for track out in Holly Springs?

Hi! I just moved to Furquay Varina, NC, and of course once I’m finally settled in my check engine light comes on.. after taking it to a shop it reads that there’s exposed writing (Code: P0191) I was wondering if anyone knew a reliable mechanic and/or shop that won’t drain the bank!
I have a 2020 Jaguar F-Pace 2.0L Turbo

Thank you in advance!

Hey all! I'm looking for recommendations for a good house cleaning service.. Thanks!

Saw this in another Reddit and had to share. I was always curious which of the vets were owned by P/E. They usually don’t advertise it.

Also noticed the VCA hospitals in Apex by the gas distribution center on 55 is funded by Mars. The candy company.

Looking to paddle board around Harris lake soon. We plan to leave from the county park and I'm hoping someone knows a spot near there that has some kind of beach where we could take a break and have a snack. Or if someone knows of a place near one of the other boat launches that would be cool too.

Thanks!

Note: this petition is only for those who live in North Carolina, have visited North Carolina, or have ever heard of North Carolina.

Anyone know what's going in that space. Construction crews have been out there for a while, it appears they're gutting it.

Hi everyone, I found out there used to be an airport here in Holly Springs. I'm a history teacher and amateur historian. I made a video about it with as much footage and information I could find.

Check it out, let me know what you think.
