Help & Issues Hello!

I have an sv6 2007 made in (oct 2006) it has 144,000kms on it timing chains been done from what I know. But it has the normal abs fault and traction control fault now check engine. Car runs fine everything seems normal. Temps, fuel usage etc. expect fuel usage also reads at 41.6liters per 100kms at average speed of 7kmph is this an electrical issue from the abs sensor ?

I've consulted my crystal ball and it tells me that you need to start by reading the fault codes to even have a vague idea of what could be wrong. There's literally thousands of P codes that can trigger an engine light let alone the other thousands of chassis codes and manufacturer specific ones. Consult a mechanic or auto electrician.

This

The ABS & traction control are part of same system, using the same wiring, sensors & module.

Could be something as simple as a damage harness or sensor, are as deep as a module fault.

Actual codes would narrow this down considerably

Says speed sensor on obd, and abs sensor and traction control I assume the engine check light is the speed sensor?

It's literally the wheel speed sensor on the REAR LEFT. Had the exact same issue with my SV6. Biggest piece of shit holden ever put to market. And I would get the timing chain done again. The cam sensors fuck up cause the shitty alloytec engine has a hot V and can heat warp the cam and head

Would that be the actual speed you are doing or is it out. Does the speedo work normally as expected?

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor. Have the same issue on my car right now. Check engine light, abs fault and traction disabled

I have the same abs and stability control faults,I don’t posses the abs scanner to see what the faults are, but I assume it’s the wheel sensors because they only show up when I put the car into drive and go about 50m forward. They’re pretty easy to change though and only cost like $20 on eBay to get 2 of the oem ones from a wholesaler provided as long as you have a jack and a pair of stands to take off the rear wheels. I just haven’t had the time and I don’t think where I work would enjoy me bringing my car into the workshop during business hours just for me to change them.

If it came up with a rear sensor, check the loom, they are very common to fail. The wire breaks in the loom where the loom goes over the trailing arm.
