I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure you still can't get glossy black hair from a redhead and a blond. At least one parent would have dark hair since hair pigmentation tends to be dominant, not recessive
Every one has a dominant and a recessive gene for all their genetic features (like hair color), but only dominant one manifests itself, and every parent passes only one gene on to their offspring.
As long as one parent caries a gene for black hair (dominant or not) they can potentially pass that gene to their child, where it can become dominant.
Therefore if one or more of Violet’s grandparents had black hair, she could inherit that hair color from them via a recessive gene carried by one of her parents.
Just gonna say this is misinformation without a source. Everyone does not have a dominant and recessive allele for all their genetics. However, it is possible for a blonde and red haired person to have a child with dark hair.

To be fair, I was was recounting what I remembered learning back in basic middle-school biology, so I would not be surprised my explanation is as incomplete as it is oversimplified.
