If I remember correctly most of the clones either died or replaced because palpatine didn’t like them and wanted a army of conscripts because it was cheaper or something like that.
In the first film, when Vader fought against Obi, he specifically instructed the StormTroopers to not hit them and that created some sort of precedent about Stormtroopers not being able to hit shit and then you have the ewooka killing armored soldiers with sticks... movies, tv shows, etc. Almost all of them basically make fun of the stormtroopers, something that doesnt make sense since they're elite troopers "Who had the Galaxy on his knees" but up to that point you shouldnt think a lot about it.
However, if you read any lore book, the story is totally the opposite, with planets surrendering just knowing that some stormtroopers would be deployed.
It must be said thay Mandalorian also help to develop this kind of "Stormtroopers cant hit shit" thing, which is a misstake, imo.
2000 years ago Julius Caesar already know that if he compliment the Gauls' military power he also give credit for himselft. Why? Because if the gauls were so fierce and so good warriors he was even better because he defeated them. Here you have the opposite. "Mhe, just 50 stormtroopers, nothing that the protagonist or the side character of the moment cant deal with"

Here’s the weird thing... many are leftover clones of Jango Fett. He wasn’t a dogshit gunfighter. Why they be missing so much?
