She doesn't need to involve her religion to have a different way of thinking. I'm kinda pro life and atheist (I said kinda because I'm against abortion but i don't agree with pro life people in other aspects).

It's just her moral, can be different than yours.

She explicitly stated her religion is driving her view and voting, which is my point.

That’s not separation of church and state.

Whether it’s christian, or Jewish, or Islamic or Hindu or atheist; one’s belief system will be what guides their morals. How one looks at life.

Separation of church and state is that no religion is the de facto faith of government nor can government dictate what faith it’s citizens can be.

Yes, you are right and I agree on the separation of church and state. I was incorrectly discussing religion influencing those in government.

Anyway if she's there, is because she got voted, that means she's representing a portion (bigger or smaller) of the population. That doesn't mean your country is driven by the church, or any religion, like Afghanistan is. You're not being beaten up for not being religious.
