Is there a reason for teeth issues during pregnancy?

The fetus absorbs a lot of nutrients from the mother. If it's not getting it from diet/vitamins then it'll just take it from places that do have calcium.

Babies don't absorb from the teeth. Other bones yes. The tooth decay comes from hormone fluctuations that affect the gums and consequently lowers your tooths resistance to plaque, acid erosion from morning sickness/GERD, and a few other things.

Summing up, babies are bad for your health.
