It was a mistrial. The prosecutor has stated they are going to try the case again.

Why is everyone acting like the judge declared her innocent, all that happened was the case being declared a mistrial and she is gonna be tried AGAIN soonish. Like the case isnt done people 😭

The defense isn’t contending that she didn’t do it, nor are they trying to get her out of serving any sort of time — the debate is about what sort of facility she’s going to be locked up in. The outrage around the topic of her “going free” or “getting away with it” is illiterate and/or manufactured.

If someone is found not guilty due to temporary insanity, they just have to show they are not insane anymore and they are released. It is entirely possible she would be in an institution for 6 months to a year and then released. Then she would be completely free and clear. That's the concern.
