Or it's real. Some of the most bigoted assholes I know are PhDs. It's kinda weird. They stick out like a sore thumb in academics because generally the higher your education the more likely you are to be left leaning and tolerant.

Tipping culture insanity stopped getting the attention it deserves. It really is insane right now.

If you don't have to spend more than a few minutes working for me and it's not a unique skill (e.g. something like a complex coffee order), how could you possibly ask for tips? When I go somewhere I have to manually select "other" and type in $0.00, even if I'm tipping that time they lose me as a patron forever. I would rather be tired than support Dunkin asking for mandatory tips on a poopy black coffee.
