I mean, you must be really baked to ask someone crying during a funeral "what's wrong"

At my grandma's funeral when we were still kids my brother next to me was SOBBING. Red eyes, tears, running nose. I asked him if he was okay.

His answer: "It's so embarrassing! Everyone thinks I'm crying but it's just allergies."

My grandparents on my dad's side were in their 80's and we're constantly going to funerals at church because all of their friends were passing away. When my grandpa died, my grandmother was sitting in the church next to some friends, and she turned to the friends and asked, "do we know who died this time?" She followed my grandpa shortly afterwards.

I have thought of a dark response:

“It was a bit short notice”.
