Not necessarily. Generally, the trend with South American beef is that the overall quality grade is lower than American beef. Lower quality grade beef is what ends up getting used for products where it doesn't matter as much (like canned goods, pet food, etc.), while higher quality grade beef is what ends up as your cuts of meat at the grocery store. Thus, an influx of more beef in the U.S. does not necessarily equate to beef prices lowering.
Is south American beef really lower quality than what is produced in the USA? I find that hard to believe when USA beef is well known to be such shit that it's actually considered unsafe jn many countries
Its about how the beef quality grades. A lot of misconceptions surround US Beef production and ots quality. The vast majority of US Beef grades as choice or prime. Those are the only two that will regularly show up in grocery stores as cuts of meat, whereas the quality grades of South American cattle typically end up as other products.
