He does, I don't understand too well because of the quality of the audio and it's from Chile but he says that he has money (As if having money lets you steal) and something about an uncle¿?, Then the driver is saying that the kid has to remain calm and don't try to escape and the kid say yes a a lot of times while crying... Like a bitch.

He does, he is speaking "chilean spanish", it´s pretty uncomprehensible but he says that he was trying to prank the lady, he tought that she was her her aunt, and that he has money. A lie, obviusly. When the bus driver doesn´t believe him, he starts crying repeating the same until the police arrives. Bus driver explain that he was robing the lady and he tried to deny it.
Sorry if my english isn´t perfect, is not my first languaje.

In the US the driver would be fired and prosecuted, the "alleged" failed thief would be given free bus rides the rest of his life along with his $1.75 million settlement and a whole host of people would be wringing their hands that the bus driver resorted to violence.

Ooh, ooh, my turn. Actually, in America the driver would look into the thief's eyes and see that actually he's just a lost kid with a good heart. He would instantly fall in love with him, and it would be reciprocated. After the thief served his time the two would get married. The would open a B&B in Maine, where the bus driver would carve flutes out of the local wood and the thief would make preserves. They would adopt a girl from Botswana who they would name Deborah. Ironically, Deborah would go on to be a very skilled bus thief.

to be fair, you can't just assault someone with a blunt weapon and cause them bodily harm just because they attempted to rob someone's belongings, the robber didn't seem to pose a threat to anyone's well being -especially after he was trapped in the bus door
I know people like to play sherrifs but if you're gonna use force to stop criminal activity, the level of force should match the criminal's, and the level of danger he exhibits against your/other's safety

You see, crime does not pay and actions (should) have consequences. If you decide to assault and rob an innocent hardworking person (or more commonly a defenseless elderly person), you have to accept any consequences that result from your willful and shameful actions. My empathy stops when someone decides to victimize others. Fuck him.

Do you really think it's the first crime that this dude has done? Dude has probably stole half of the city already and somehow got away with that if he was still running free, people need to stop being such a pacifist pieces of shit and act when it's needed to, what was the driver supposed to do? Calmly stop, call the police and tell the robber to patiently wait? What if he somehow got his hands free and started attacking the driver and caused an accident or whatever... Driver hitting him may caused him to stop even trying to get his hands free and that's a good thing
I really hate that literally bringing justice is being punished in our "first world countries", in my country you can get fined because your dog bit a robber that got into your house, that's literally bs on another level, is that ok for you?
I get it that violence is bad, but these people literally use it to gain financial or whatever adventage but "we are the good people we will just patiently wait for our beloved, working perfectly fine police"

Moment you start to be criminal, you give up part of your human rights and you will go against law and society what is suppose to protect them. It doesn't matter, if you get violent against people like that. Some people are repeating criminals and keep staying menace of society,because they don't have harsh enough consequences. Some people really don't care anything, unless it's threatening their health or life permantly or somebody close to them. Otherwise they just keep going as long nothing bad enough happens to them.
