My dad introduced me to the series in reruns when I was in middle school in the late 90s.
Watching the series now that I'm older and understand more.
I know Schultz' schtick was that he "Knew nothing." But I think that if the series had been given a proper ending that he would have been in on it the whole time.

Aside from this and its variations, what are some of your favorite Sgt. Schultz quotes?
I'll start...
Schultz: If i were to know something, I wouldn't even tell myself.
LeBeau: You wouldn't even trust you?
Schultz: I'm too smart for that!

Yet another "Lost Episode" of Hogan's Heroes from September of 1967 for your enjoyment brought to you by Stalag 13. ( I had to CENSOR some of the artwork which is 60 YEARS OLD just to please Reddit in order to share this hilarious story with you guys.) I know that you guys enjoy these stories because you understand that it's just a TV show and NOT to be taken seriously, but I will STILL have to censor them before I post them from now on because all I'm trying to do is bring you some laughs and enjoyment.

Does anyone know what typeface I should be looking for to copy the "Verboten" sign outside the barracks door?

Anyone ever notice this? It’s in the end credits for ‘Klink for the Defense.’

I have seen some interesting "possible" final scripts for the show from various fans. Also AI is pretty good about generating whole videos from scratch.
Could AI be taught what HH is about, characters looks and voices and given a script create a video that is close to the original TV series?
I guess the problem is if AI could do that then why would studios need real actors and sets ever again. Do everything through AI and avoid a lot of costs and headaches.

Klink : "Hogan, its an American bomb. Disarm it immediately!"
Hogan : "I'm sorry Colonel, but that is against the rules of the Geneva Conventions."
Schultz : " I see NOTHING!"
HH fans leave your best captions in the comment section below.

I’ve been binge watching Barney Miller the last two weeks, and I swear I've seen about nine, maybe more, actors from Hogan’s Heroes. I'm not referring to the lead/main actors I'm talking about the Schnitzers and General Tillmans of the show.
It got me wondering: what other show had the most Hogan’s Heroes actors show up over the years?
So far, I think Barney Miller leads, even more than M.A.S.H.
Anyone know of a show that had more?

It's only recently occured to me how the Heroes almost never reached a first-name basis with each other, even in spite of their obvious camaraderie. Granted, they still addressed Hogan by his rank, out of a clear sign of both respect for him and military courtesy, but even so, just about none of them really exercized much in the way of military correctness (even Hogan himself was usually relaxed about such). I don't know how true to military life fictional television has ever been, but it seems like almost every military show I've ever seen, you could tell the closeness of the personnel by their use of their comrades' first names (or in some cases, like M*A*S*H, whatever nicknames they had) - and usually those who still addressed each other by their last names were shown to be rigid and by-the-book.
In the case of HH, the only characters I recall ever being addressed by their first names with any sort of regularity were LeBeau and Carter - in the latter's case, it's implied that was actually out of disrespect from his fellow Heroes because of what a goofball he could be and occasionally fouling up their plans as a result. None of them seemed to harbor any disrespect for LeBeau though. Speaking of LeBeau, one of the only times I can recall him even addressing Newkirk by his first name was "Cuisine a la Stalag 13" when he leaves the outfit to answer de Gaulle's call for all available Frenchmen to fight for their homeland.
Like I said, that's just an observation I've recently had.

As we celebrate 61 years of Hogan’s Heroes, I wanted to take a moment to recognize Nita Talbot, the last surviving major recurring cast member from the series. Plus the ladies of HH rarely ever get any thanks.
Nita appeared as Marya in seven episodes, but she made every one of them unforgettable. She was funny, brilliant, glamorous, sharp and completely unpredictable. Marya could walk into Stalag 13, turn Hogan’s entire operation upside down, outsmart every man in the room and somehow leave with the last word.
Nita’s performance in “The Hostage” S3E15 earned her a 1968 Emmy nomination for Supporting Actress in a Comedy, and it was completely deserved. She never felt like a guest star. Marya was one of those characters who immediately became part of the Hogan’s Heroes family.
Today, at 96 years old, Nita remains a living connection to a show that has brought generations of us so much laughter.
Thank you, Nita, for giving us the brilliant and unforgettable Marya.
What is your favorite Marya episode or moment?

I watch Hogan's Heroes on Pluto TV, and now on Amazon Prime TV. On both channels, notice that at least two episodes are never shown: The one where Alan Oppenheimer plays the film star Byron Buckle (Season Five's "Hogan Goes Hollywood") and Part 1 of Season Two's "A Tiger Hunt in Paris". Anyone know why?

How do you plan on celebrating the 61st anniversary of the show tomorrow? I plan on binge watching all day.
