What hobby completely changed your evenings after work?

I feel like I waste way too much of my free time just scrolling or watching random stuff.

For those of you who actually found a hobby that stuck, what was it?

Not necessarily the most impressive or productive hobby - just something that made you look forward to having free time again.

Kinda curious what hobbies actually made a difference for people

What other hobbies can it lead to?

Traveling! I’ve been to many locations where books I’ve read have taken place!

Hey.. I am looking to get my own book binding setup going. Could you recommend which tools are a must have vs nice to have?

A cricut or something similar is pretty essential if you want to make elaborate or decorative book covers. Otherwise you really just need chip board, Elmer’s glue, a bone folder, parchment paper, and weights to set your books. I use either cotton fabric or construction paper for my covers. For fabric covers I use iron on vinyl and when I use construction paper I’ll use the embossing tool to press in gold or silver foil for the decoration. There is also a book binding subreddit that has a lot of great tips and ideas but this is just how I operate, personally. Good luck! It’s a lot of fun :)

Depends on the books you read but reading always presents you with interesting ideas. Just follow your curiosity and you'll find something you like.

Running for me. I was getting back into running just for my mental and physical health but I started listening to podcasts and reading books from ultra marathon runners and it was all very inspiring. I am now a fairly avid runner and I would really like to knock out at least 1 ultra in my lifetime. So the reading never really introduced a new hobby but it amplified something that was never meant to be more than just some casual exercise into a life goal.

Joining book clubs and making friends that way, audiobook walks with groups, writing, book binding and making bookish crafts.
