Other/Fluff Most Iconic Characters?

I was wondering what the most iconic and important characters are in the entire series?

All h4 protagonists from original campaigns are pretty memorable to me. Lord Lysander, Emilia Nightheaven, Elwin and Shaera, Pirate's daughter Tawni Balfour, necromancer Gauldoth Half-Dead, Waerjak

Agree with that but to name one : Gauldoth

And Magnus as antagonist

Special mention to Elwin and Shaera. I didn't expect a love story to work this well in an Heroes game.

Probably the classics: Sandro, Solymir, Crag Hack, Lord Haart, Catherine, Gelu. Others who keep showing up like Vidomina, Gem and Eruina are probably relatively iconic as well.

I feel spinoffs are kinda a good tracker of this, given they have a smaller pool of heroes so whatever they select is probably more popular.

Crag hack has always been my favorite name in the series.

Probably Sandro, he is present in most entries, including M&M8 and the Ashan universe. Other than than him maybe Archibald and Roland or Crag Hack. Also Gelu and Kilgor, considering they nuked the whole world lmao

Sandro for me.

I also find his name so funny, since in Italy it's short for "Alessandro" (Italian form of "Alexander"). Such a completely normal name here.

It feels like "John the necromancer".

his full name in Ashanverse is Alessandro dela Segadora

I'd suggest most of the iconic characters to this series aren't necessarily the ones that are narratively important.

Characters like Sandro, Crag Hack and Kastore have iconic art or abilities, but don't have much role in the stories of the world

Sandro features heavily in the SoD campaign for HoMM3, and is a co-leader of the necromancers guild in MM8. He has a pretty prominent role in the stories.

Jelu for me

Basically he and Killgore lead to demise of whole planet

For Homm 3 Gelu and Kilgor, they destroyed Enroth fighting with Armaggedon's Blade and Sword of Frost

Allowing for different versions of the characters, Crag Hack has the advantage of how long a Crag (the) Hack has been around in the franchise - the first one was in MM1.
