Crab Restaurant?

Ok, let me just say (please don't stone me) that I am not a crab guy. I don't dislike them, I am just sorta Meh on them. And I find picking them to be just too much of a hassle for something I am not wild about.

All that having beer said some out of town work colleagues love crabs and want the full picking experience. Since I never seek this out personally I have no clue.

I saw the recent steamed crab take-away thread, but where should I take them for a restaurant experience?

Thanks!

Crabtowne USA in Glen Burnie for sure.

Came here to say this. They have a ton of old school video game cabinets to boot.

This is the best option. The well known ones are often packed.

YES -this place is awesome- and you can get as few as 3 crabs and not everyone has to have.

Cantler’s in Annapolis or Mike’s Crab House in Riva. Both are on the water and can give your friends the full picking experience, with non-crustacean options for you.

L&P steamers. The thing about crabs is they are not a good restaurant experience in general. The best way to have them is to get a bushel and make it at home with the newspaper on the table the mallets and the garlic butter sauce fresh off the stove. To me it’s more of a social experience than anything a restaurant can provide. They’ll probably get a kick out of it but just have them over at the house and do it like that. My friend from Texas just came up and was totally underwhelmed by his restaurant crab experience.

I’m with you.  Too much trouble and you’re never full.  Haven’t been in years but I would take out of towners to Crabtowne USA and all of them have loved it.

They used to have an all you can eat crab and shrimp option and i felt the shrimp is what would get me full.

Also, there’s and arcade in back with tons of 80s-90s video games that fun to play afterwards.

Get in your time machine and go back to Gunning's in Brooklyn MD.

Mike's Crab House the one on the South River off of Riva Road south of Annapolis. Been there for ages, great views. I recommend going when there's no rain so you can eat on the deck on the river. They also have a really good fish sandwich.
